MCALISTER READY TO TAKE ON DAYTONA WITH CARBAHN & PEREGRINE RACING
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
San Jose, Calif. (January 24, 2024) — CarBahn with Peregrine Racing is geared up and ready to tackle the first round of the 2024 IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge Championship in the GS class. The team will be hitting the track at Daytona International Speedway with their No. 39 Accel / Menlo BMW M4 GT4, featuring a distinctive black, gray, and green livery. Drivers Jeff Westphal and Sean McAlister will be at the helm, eager to make their mark on the upcoming season.
Jeff Westphal, co-driver of the No. 39 entry, shared his thoughts on the challenges that come at Daytona. “The roar provided us with the opportunity to log many miles at the fastest racetrack we will see all year, Daytona. Things that can become challenges at fast racetracks are: cockpit buffeting, aero equipment buffeting, extreme tire wear due to the banking and vehicle durability due to unavoidable curb usage,” he added.
Despite these challenges, Westphal expressed confidence in the team's preparation, stating, "CarBahn with Peregrine Racing gave Sean and I a really nice BMW M4 GT4, with small gains and lessons learned each outing the past weekend. I am confident we will have a very solid race car for the upcoming 4hr race and am looking forward to tough competition!"
Sean McAlister, co-driver of the No. 39 entry, echoed the positive sentiment, saying, "We had a great few test days at The Roar Before The 24! It was great to get reacquainted with the car and systems, especially getting back behind the wheel. Each session was a chance to learn something new, make adjustments, and get back up to speed. I’m very excited for the start of the season with this amazing crew, team, and car!"
The practice 1 is set to kick off on Wednesday, Jan. 24 at Daytona International Speedway, followed by practice 2 and qualifying on the next day. The highly anticipated four-hour BMW M Endurance Challenge at Daytona will take the green flag at 1:45 p.m. ET on Friday, Jan. 26, and fans can catch all the action live on Peacock.
